Lars Marius Garshol, Chief Technical Officer, has significant experience as a software developer and systems integrator. His grasp of the principles and processes of software development and his insistence on rigorous standards of quality stand him in good stead as development manager. Since finishing his computer science degree at Oslo University in 1999 he has added Unicode support to the Opera web browser, written a book on XML application development, and worked as an SGML/XML consultant for several years. He is an editor of ISO 13250-2: Topic Maps -- Data Model; ISO 13250-3: Topic Maps -- XML Syntax; and ISO 18048: Topic Maps Query Language.

Geir Ove Grønmo, Chief Architect, is the most experienced developer of topic map software in the world! He has designed and produced topic map engines in Python and Java and has experience of design and implementation of integrated systems and stand- alone products. He finished his engineering degree in graphic arts technologies and computer science in 1995 at the College of Gjøvik. Before he co-founded Ontopia he worked as an information architect for STEP Infotek, a systems integrator specializing in document management systems. In 1999 Geir Ove developed the first generation code base of what would later become the the Ontopia Knowledge Suite. Today he works hard to improve and enhance the software.

Steve Pepper is the Founder and present Chairman of Ontopia and an Independent Consultant. He leads the work of the ISO committee responsible for the Topic Maps standard (ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 34/WG 3) and is Conference Chair of Topic Maps 2007, the International Topic Maps Users Conference.
