Pam Gennusa Ontopia's new CEO

24 Sep 2000 Ontopia is pleased to announce that Pam Gennusa has been named as the company's new CEO. Most recently, Pam was the European Representative for OASIS and prior to that she was Managing Director of DPSL where she led the consultancy and development between 1990 and 1999. Since 1991, Pam has also served as the chair of the GCA's Spring conference, XML Europe. Pam has also participated in the ISO and ANSI committees that developed SGML, served as President of the International SGML and XML Users' Group from 1992-1999, held the positions of Chief Marketing Officer and President on the first OASIS (known then as SGML Open) Board of Directors (1993-1995), sat as a member of the GCA Board of Directors since 1992 and served as their Chairperson from 1997-98, and was also as a member of the IDEAlliance Board of Directors through 1999. Initially, Pam will focus on putting in place the rest of the management team and setting up relationships with investors, partners, channels, and customers. She takes over from Steve Pepper who leaves his role as Acting CEO to take up his position as CTO.

Kal Ahmed to join Ontopia

July 21, 2000 We are proud to announce that Kal Ahmed will shortly be joining the Ontopia team from Chrystal Software, where he has been responsible for the design and implementation of custom information management systems. Kal has been an active member of the topic map community for a number of years and is the author of the open source topic map engine TM4J. His tasks with Ontopia will include consultancy and training on the use of Ontopia technology and topic maps to customers and partners of Ontopia.
