You don't have to visit Ontopia in order to meet an Ontopian. Of course, you are always welcome to come to us, but we get about quite a lot and we would be more than happy to visit you on your own territory. In the next couple of months, we'll be at the following events and locations:

TMRA'06

Leipzig, Germany, 11-12 Oct 2006: The TMRA conference, an international technical, academic conference dedicated entirely to Topic Maps, is being arranged again in 2006 after the success with TMRA'05. The program has now been published.

Emnekart 2006, Oslo

Oslo, Norway, 29 March 2006: The fourth annual Norwegian Topic Maps conference includes an international track presented in English, Program Ontopia hosts a pre-conference afternoon of up-to-speed presentations on 28 March, followed by a reception.


Online Information 2005, London

London, UK, 29 Nov - 2 Dec 2005: Ontopia will exhibit at the partner booth of Innodata Isogen at Online information 2005.

TMRA'05, Leipzig

Leipzig, Germany, 6-7 October 2005: The University of Leipzig organized a workshop on Topic Map Research and Applications (TMRA'05). The programme is available and Ontopians were well represented.The official press release can be found here.

Extreme Markup 2005, Montreal

Montreal, Canada, 1-5 August 2005: Lars Marius Garshol attended the annual Extreme Markup Languages 2005 conference. On August 2, 2005 he presented The Q Model. This is an ideal opportunity to get to grips with some of the technical details and mingle with people discussing new ideas.

XTech 2005, Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Netherlands, 27 May 2005: Lars Marius Garshol presented a talk about the W3C's RDF/Topic Maps Interoperability activity at IDEAlliance's XTech conference. Important meetings of the ISO Topic Maps committee took place in parallel with the conference.

XML 2004, Washington D.C - People Who Changed The World

15-19 November 2004: XML guru Len Bullard was at XML 2004 and has posted a tribute to "the people who changed the world" in his blog. Ontopia would like to thank him publicly for his kind words.

Emnekart 2004, Oslo

Oslo, Norway, 26-27 October 2004: The third annual Norwegian Topic Maps conference, Emnekart 2004 focuses on practical applications of Topic Maps and is this year preceded by an up-to-speed session the evening before for those new to Topic Maps.

Kunnskapstinget 2004, Oslo

2 September 2004: Steve Pepper will talk about Topic Maps as a Knowledge Management and Knowledge Integration technology at Kunnskapstinget 2004, the Norwegian Computer Society's annual KM conference.

Extreme Markup 2004, Montreal

2-6 August 2004: Lars Marius Garshol and Steve Pepper will be speaking and teaching at the annual Extreme Markup Languages 2004 conference. This is an ideal opportunity to get to grips with some of the technical details of Topic Maps and to meet the people working on the next version of the standard.

XML Europe 2004, Amsterdam

19-21 April 2004: Visit Ontopia and its Dutch partners, Diderot Track and Morpheus Software, at Booth 118, at the RAI for XML Europe 2004.


XML 2003, Philadelphia

8-11 December 2003: As usual, the Ontopians will be present in force at IDEAlliance's XML 2003 conference, as exhibitors, speakers and tutorial presenters. This year's conference takes place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia.

Real World Topic Maps, Cambridge

5 November 2003:Ontopia and their UK partner, Techquila, are organising this one-day seminar in association with XML UK. Seven experts from throughout Europe discuss the advantage of Topic Maps in real world applications. Contact XML UK for programme and registration.

EDOK conference, Lillehammer, Norway

29-31 October 2003: Ontopia will be presenting its latest products at EDOK 2003 in Lillehammer (Norway) and showing how Topic Maps can be applied to solve the findability problem when managing electronic documents.

SIRNET meeting, Stockholm

15 October 2003: Steve Pepper presented a three hour open seminar on Topic Maps for SIRNET (the Swedish Information Resource Network). The slides of the presentation are now available.

Informatik 2003, Frankfurt

2 October 2003: Steve Pepper is a Guest Speaker at a workshop on the Mobile Internet on 2 October as part of this annual conference arranged by the Technical University of Berlin and others.

DocuLive Users' Conference, Stavanger

23 September 2003: Steve Pepper will be talking about Topic Maps and Document Management at the DocuLive Users' Conference in Stavanger, Norway.
