- The first concert of the New Year was devoted to Bruckner, a composer I'm trying hard to like but without really succeeding. His eighth symphony I found less satisfying than the fifth: the climaxes are exciting enough, but the bits in between don't seem to hang together. According to Joe, it was partly the fault of the performance; Håkon, on the other hand, could not understand why everyone was not ecstatic. Afterwards to the Beer Palace.
